I picked up only 7 pcs. He is, as I said, a very small farm, so he does not have a lot of Koi and I picked out 5 Goshiki Sanke, a GR Showa and a Tancho Showa. These are all from his higher grade and, in fact, he selected one of his Tategoi Goshiki Sanke for me.

The Tategoi Goshiki Sanke has thick beautiful skin and the robing is just starting to develop. It is female and about 12". This one is very special. All 7 of the Tosai I purchased are female.

Kibi Koi Farm produces Showa, Sanke, GR Showa, Goshiki Sanke, and Ochiba.

The only place in the US you will be able to get a Goshiki Sanke for the time being, and maybe for a while, is right here at PSKoi - Simply the Best!

True Story : When I got there a couple of customers were already there looking into tanks of fish. Since they were there first I did not want to take anything they may want so I offered to let them go first. They picked a tank, so I was able to pick a tank, but rather than seine it they told Takigawa san that they would use a net to catch the Koi they wanted. While they were working at catching Koi Takigawa and I seined a pond so I could pick. Then I seined another pond as they were still having at it.

I picked everything I wanted, from two ponds, and they turned out to be the guys that spend and hour and leave with one 6" Tancho Kohaku. I thought it was every dealers nightmare and then I saw a breeder have to go through the same thing. The look on his face said it all.

As you can see, picking from a seined pond is much easier.

I didn’t pick up many but am quite happy with these 5 Sanke and 4 Kohaku. I am not sure what size the smallest is but the larger are 16” to 17” Tosai. Oh, and 100% female...

Today was Omosako Koi Farm. It was a tough decision to go as I have so many nice Shiro Utsuri left over from the last trip. Over the last two years buying Tosai was easy because I only had one trip a year. Now that I am back to two trips I have to be careful of what I get on each trip.

I also bought Kujaku from 3 breeders last trip so buying Kujaku from Omosako wasn’t going to happen either.

I bought a few nice Shiro and one Kujaku. Omosako also had a few nice Showa. I picked up some oddball Koi but the one thing he had that I didn’t get last trip was GR Shiro Utsuri.

I got more of the oddball Koi than I am going to show in the market place because I felt bad wasting time taking pictures while Omosako could be doing other things. This was my choice not his. This is a sample.

I have to be honest too. I was surprised at how nice the Showa were for the price.
