I leave Thursday 7/7/16 for Indianapolis to start a new pond build. This pond is going to be a monolithic concrete pour as well but it will be formed a little bit differently. The pond dimensions are roughly 14′ x 28′ but, on the middle of the front long edge of the pond, there is going to be a radius viewing edge that takes you into the pond a little bit. I leave on Wednesday August 31st to go back to Indiana for a second pond build. It will be similar to the first build, as it is using most of the forms from the first build, but there will be no radius wall in it and we are including a filter pit in the monolithic pour. This trip is not going to happen exactly as the title describes. There isn’t enough room in the title to outline the trip as this is going to be the longest trip I have taken to Japan to buy Koi. I leave on October 7th and don’t come back until November 6th. When I arrive, I will be by myself, I will head to Ojiya for about 8 days. My first full day in Ojiya will be October 9th. I am in the process of building a new concrete system and will be using the Blue Eco RDF. You can’t beat the flow rate and efficiency. I really am looking forward to this low energy install and the lack of electronics in the RDF just makes it that much better. It has been very cold and rainy but it looks like the weather will cooperate for the next two weeks so, I got Kiwi and started digging.
